WARS, WAVES, RULERS

Concept: Modern society, our very everyday life is manipulated through the technical inventions developed in the military laboratories
Society as a laboratory for the military experiment. This concept was once presented in the novel of Alexander Beljaev “The Ruler of the World”. This is a story of the opposition between two “giants of will”. An occupant of thoughts a German named Shtirner and a Soviet engineer Kachinsky, a liberator of thoughts. This opposition described in Beljaev’s book can also be reinterpreted in terms of different technical invention of the time (from radio to Turing machine). All our deepest impulses can be translated into machine language turning us into dolls, mannequins. This book contains a vision of an enclosed society, subject to all sorts of military tests and strategies that govern it. It is an invisible war that takes captives without any apparent violence. And this society resembles very much the one we are living in today where our very quotidian life is being orchestrated by the technical inventions worked out in the military laboratories.
