ILYA PLEKHANOV was born in Siberia in 1977. For a long time moved across the USSR with his family, eventually settled and studied in Moscow. In 90-s he moved to Australia. Abroad Ilya became the founder of student's online magazine called "Russian Enclave". In 2000 he returned to Russia and studied in The Institute of Asian and African Studies of Moscow State University.
Most of the writings are about War in Yugoslavia (1991-1995). At the Second Chechen War Ilya’s poetry went on air for the Russian soldiers fighting in Dagestan in 1999.
Since 2000 his works are being published in various editions: "Soldier of Fortune", "Bratishka", "Moscow University", "Novaya Gazeta", "Literary Russia", in the collections of military stories "The Chechen war" and on the Internet-sites. Ilya's translations from English, Japanese and Serbian languages are published in poetry collections. He had published two books: "Behind the poem’s breastwork" and "Soul in a quilted jacket ". Ilya is a member of the Union of Writers of Russia.
Since 2006 one of founders and the editor-in-chief of the literary Almanac of the latest wars veterans "Art of War" (www.navoine.ru). In 2008 the Almanac has received the "Gold Feather of Russia" Award for the elaboration of a military theme in the modern Russian literature.
