FRIEDRICH ADOLF KITTLER – was born in 1943 in Rochlitz. Media philosopher. His family fled with him to West Germany in 1958. A Doctor of Philosophy. His main thesis: all our knowledge and all we see as true is determined by the technical device that is used by our culture. In the centre of attention is the network of technical device and institutions which help any culture execute addressing, memorizing and processing of the data. He is influenced by Jacques Lacan’s and Michel Foucault’s writings . In 1984, he earned his Habilitation in the field of Modern German Literary History. This was considered a pioneering work for Culturology, Literary theory and Mediology in Germany.

In 1987 he was appointed Professor of Modern German Studies at the Ruhr University. In 1993 he was appointed to the chair for Media Aesthetics and History at the Humboldt University of Berlin. He founded a Berlin School of Mediology and cofounded a Centre for Art and Media Technology (ZKM Karlsruhe).

Concept: Blitzkrieg as a technical perfection and a direct opposition to the lengthy war (that gradually changes hatred between the warring nations into love) and as a proto-version of the modern Internet space

ZOYA YEROSHOK – was born 1953 in Temruck, of Krasnadar region. Commentator and one of the cofounders of "Novaya Gazeta" (1993) She graduated from the Moscow State university, faculty of journalism. She worked for six years in the youth magazine "Komsomoltez of Kuban" and ten years in "Komsomolskaya pravda". She is a laureate of the Union of Journalists' Prize "Golden pen of Russia" (1997) and twice she recieved an award named after Artem Borovik "Honour. Courage. Professionalism" (2001 and 2008). She teaches journalism to the students of International university and to the students of the Institute of journalism and literary art (Moscow). She takes part as an expert in the international youth seminars in France (Strasbourg, European Union), England and Italy.

 

Concept: When oblivion is the main sentence passed on people in the war of the State against them, the heroic act of a human would amount to the leaving of a trace, of memory.

DMITRY LOSKUTOV – born in 1978 in Cheboksars. Graduated from the Chuvash State University. Law Faculty. Worked in Ministry of Justice. From 2000 till 2006 worked in Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Departement for Security and disarmament affairs. From 2006 - Mission of Russia to NATO. A second secretary. He is responsible for defence-industrial and practical cooperation with NATO.

 

Concept: The world without arms is an illusion but ideally the arms have to perform their task so that they will never have to be used.

SOTIRIOS BAHTSETZIS is born 1970 in Serres, Greece Sotirios Bahtsetzis works as an art historian, independent curator and art critic, based in Athens, Greece. He received 2005 his PhD from the Technical University, Berlin, Germany with a thesis in History of Modern and Contemporary Art entitled History of Installation Art (earned with the highest distinction summa cum laude). Between 2005 and 2006 he has been researcher at the Athens School of Fine Arts, Athens, Greece, while since 2006 he is an adjunct professor at the Architecture Department of the Patras University, Greece and the Architecture Department of the University of Thessalia, Greece. He is currently a Fulbright art theory Fellow at the Columbia University in New York, USA.

VIACHESLAV IZMAILOV – born In 1954. Makhachkala, Republic of Dagestan. War correspondent of “Novaya Gazeta”. In 1985-87 he participated in the military operations in Afghanistan. In 1995 after his article in "Novaya Gazeta" “I don’t want to draft into that army” he was sent to serve as an officer of the 205 motorized infantry in Chechnya.

His first publications in “Novaya Gazeta” came out in 1995. The first hostages were released in April 1996. He is an author of numerous articles dealing with juridical and military aspects of that war, and of what is going on in the Republic as its aftermath. In 1997-2001 he continues the same activity on their search and negotiations as a correspondent of “Novaya Gazeta”. He released more than 170 hostages without any ransom.

 

Concept: The Negotiator brings the captive from the world of the dead and takes him back to the world of the living.
